CHARLESTON INSHORE ANGLERS SHEEPSHEAD TOURNAMENT: The 20th annual Charleston inshore Anglers Sheepshead Tournament will be fished April 28. MONCKS CORNER MEDICAL CENTER CATFISH TOURNAMENT: The 19th annual Moncks Corner Medical Center Catfish Tournament, benefiting the Berkeley County Rescue Squad, will be fished April 28. The early entry fee is $75 per boat or $90 per boat at the William Dennis Boat Landing on the morning of the tournament. There is a $1,000 bonus for the biggest catfish over 55 pounds but under 65 pounds and a $2,000 bonus for the biggest catfish over 65 pounds (but not both). CAROLINA LADY ANGLERS: The Carolina Lady Anglers’ 15th annual Fishing for the Cure inshore tournament will be held June 2 out of the Charleston Maritime Center. FISHIN’ FOR A MISSION: St. Andrews Church is holding its Fishin’ for a Mission fishing tournament May 5. Proceeds will go to St. Andrews mission trips. Eligible species are sheepshead, trout and flounder, with the winner determined by the aggregate of all three species. SC MEMORIAL REEF: The fourth annual S.C. Memorial Reef Silent and Live Auction will be held June 29 during the Carolina Classic S.C. Governor’s Cup Billfishing Series tournament. The S.C. Memorial Reef will be a part of the Charleston Deep Reef Project to create a special place of honor and reflection for the sportsfishing community that share, protect and respect our outstanding offshore resource. VERMILION SNAPPER SEASON NOW OPEN: The recreational season for vermilion snapper has reopened. The daily bag limit is five vermilion snapper per person (in addition to the aggregate bag limit of 10 snapper), with a minimum size limit of 12 inches total length. The recreational season ends Nov. 1.
