SCSSA TOURNAMENTS: The South Carolina Saltwater Sportsfishing Association's 28th annual Sailfish Tournament and Just for Kings Tournament both will be held Aug. 28-29. SUMMERVILLE BASSMASTERS: Elvis Peagler won the Summerville Bassmasters club tournament with five bass that weighed 16.54 pounds. Mark Hodge Jr. was second with five bass that weighed 16.22 pounds, and Mark Hodge Sr. was third with five bass that weighed 15.54 pounds. Malcolm Murdock had the big fish, 8.56 pounds, and Brian Peagler was the first-place guest with five bass that weighed 13.94 pounds.

BOATING COURSES: The Charleston Sail and Power Squadron will hold the following courses -- Piloting, Sept. 13; Seamanship, Sept. 15; Engine Maintenance, Sept. 22; and Weather, Sept. 23; Electrical Systems, Oct. 5. ISLANDERS SHAG CLUB/CHARLESTON SKI CLUB TOURNAMENT: The Islanders Shag Club and Greater Charleston Ski Club will hold their annual inshore tournament on Oct. 2. SLAMMIN' LEUKEMIA INSHORE SLAM: The Slammin' Leukemia Inshore Slam fishing tournament will be held Oct. 2. Registration will take place from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 1 at Red's Ice House on Shem Creek. The entry fee is $300 per two-man team or $350 per two-man team with a sheepshead super slam. Eligible species are redfish, trout, flounder, sheepshead and overall.
