Staff report COLUMBIA – A meeting will be held today at the Capital City/Lake Murray Country office to discuss making a request to the South Carolina High School League to sanction High School Fishing as a varsity sport.

The meeting will be held from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the Capital City/Lake Murray Country office, located at 2184 North Lake Drive, Columbia.

The meeting is in preparation for the South Carolina High School Fishing State Championship, which will be held April 28 in partnership with The Bass Federation and the S.C. Department of Natural Resources.

Participants are invited following the meeting to attend the 2:30 p.m. weigh-in for the National Guard FLW College Fishing National Championship at Williams-Brice Stadium.
