The Carolina Lady Anglers’ Fishing for the Cure Tournament will be held Saturday with the weigh-in from 4-6 p.m. at the Charleston Maritime Center. The captain’s meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Maritime Center. Eligible species include king mackerel, Spanish mackerel, trout, flounder, sheepshead, ladyfish and dogfish. The Folly Beach Anglers’ seventh annual Kids Fishing Tournament will be held from 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. June 6 at the Folly Beach Pier. No pre-registration is required. The tournament is open to youth 16 and younger with three age groups for boys and girls, a total of six first-place prizes and a trophy for the biggest fish of the day. All fish must comply with S.C. Department of Natural Resources regulations. No rays or sharks will be allowed. Tackle and bait will be available until they run out. Loaner rods will be available until they run out. The fourth annual Palmetto Society Redfish Championship will be fished June 6 out of Dockside Condos, located at 330 Concord St., Charleston. The entry fee is $35 per angler. Capts. John Irwin of Fly Right Charters, Hunter Allen of Lighter Breeze Charters and Jeremy Mehlhaff of Charleston Shallows will lead Orvis 2-Day Fly Fishing Schools on June 12-13, July 12-13, Aug. 26-27 and Sept. 24-25. The classes are limited to six anglers and are based on Lowcountry tailing tides. The class runs from 12:30-3:30 p.m. and the anglers will then go out with a captain to fish tailing tides from 4:30 p.m. until dark. The cost is $500 per angler.
