Lower state baseball titles at stake tonight: Hanahan vs. Bishop England; Ashley Ridge vs. Lexington

STAFF REPORT Two high school baseball lower state titles will be decided tonight with the Lowcountry assured of having at least one team advancing to the state championship series next week.

In Class AA, Hanahan plays at Bishop England in a rematch of last year’s lower state final. The Bishops won last year and went on to capture the state championship, its sixth in 10 years. Hanahan must beat Bishop England twice tonight to advance to the state finals.

The first game is set for 5 p.m. A second game will be necessary only if the Hawks win the first game.

In Class AAAA, Ashley Ridge is hosting Lexington at 6 p.m. Ashley Ridge beat top-seeded Lexington, 10-2, Monday night, and needs just one victory to claim the lower state title. Lexington must beat the Swamp Foxes twice tonight to advance to the state finals.
