BALTIMORE, Md. - A seven-goal second quarter and stellar defense led No. 2 Limestone back to the top of the lacrosse world as it defeated No. 7 LIU Post, 12-6, to claim its third NCAA Division II national championship on Sunday.
Sophomore attack Vinny Ricci earned Most Outstanding Player with four goals and an assist for Limestone (19-1), while Todd Nakasuji had a pair of goals and an assist, Joshua Williams added a pair of scores and Kyle Rhatigan finished with a goal and two assists.
LIU Post fell to 11-6.
South Carolina shot 12-over 292 in the second round of the NCAA men's golf championship at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kan., and will head into Monday's final round of stroke play in ninth place.
The Gamecocks have a 36-hole total of 4-over 564. Stanford has the lead heading into the final round with a total of 12-under 548.
