Kiawah’s Frost qualifies for PGA Championship

Charles Frost, the Head Professional at Kiawah Island Club’s River Course, qualified for the 2015 PGA Championship at Whistling Straits scheduled for Aug. 10–16. Frost secured his place in golf’s final major with a tie for 10th place at the PGA’s Professional National Championship in Flourtown, Pa., this week.

This is the first time Frost, the Johns Island resident, has qualified for one of golf’s majors.

Frost coaches PGA Tour players Ben Martin and Russell Henley, who are both sponsored by the Kiawah Island Club. Martin has already qualified for the PGA Championship with a win at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. Henley secured his spot at the PGA Championship by qualifying for the TOUR Championship last year.

Frost joined The Kiawah Island Club from Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte. Prior to working at Quail Hollow as the Director of Instruction, Frost played professionally on several tours and previously won both the South Carolina and North Carolina Open as well as the Carolinas PGA Assistant’s Championship.
