CLEMSON - Clemson baseball coach Jack Leggett announced Thursday he will start Kevin Pohle (6-4, 3.66 ERA) in the No. 2 seeded Tigers’ NCAA opening game against No. 3 seed Coastal Carolina at 12 p.m. Friday (ESPNU).

Leggett did not announce starting pitching assignments for the rest of the regional and they figure to be match-up dependent upon who Clemson faces in the winners’ or losers’ bracket Saturday.

Dominic Leone has started the majority of series openers since Kevin Brady left the rotation with a hamstring injury. Leone did not pitch well against South Carolina in March allowing 6 runs in 2 1/3 innings.

Leggett said his top three starting pitching options for the Columbia Regional are Pohle, Leone and freshman Daniel Gossett. Leggett indicated Brady will be held to working in relief as he builds up stamina.
