The 21st annual John “Roundtrip” Ham Memorial Fishing Tournament will be held June Saturday-Sunday on the Santee Cooper lakes. It is a live release catfish tournament that begins at 7 p.m. Saturday and continues until 9 a.m. Sunday. Places are determined by the single biggest catfish weighed in by each team. The captain’s meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Hill’s Landing in Cross. The entry fee is $100 per team with an 85 percent payback. Proceeds benefit the Cross chapter of Wildlife Action, In. Registration forms are available at Angler’s in Moncks Corner, Canal Lakes Camp and Hill’s Landing.

John Irwin of Fly Right Charters, Hunter Allen of Lighter Breeze Charters and Jeremy Mehlhaff of Charleston Shallows will lead Orvis 2-Day Fly Fishing Schools July 12-13, Aug. 26-27 and Sept. 24-25. The classes are limited to six anglers and are based on Lowcountry tailing tides. The class runs from 12:30-3:30 p.m. and the anglers will then go out with a captain to fish tailing tides from 4:30 p.m. until dark. The cost is $500 per angler.
