COLUMBIA — South Carolina athletic director Eric Hyman said his work is not yet finished with the Gamecocks for him to consider other jobs.

A broadcast report from North Carolina had Hyman as a leading candidate for the athletic director’s job at the University of North Carolina. However, Hyman issued a statement Wednesday night saying that while he was flattered to be considered by his alma mater, he still had work to do at South Carolina.

Hyman has been in charge of South Carolina athletics since 2005. Under his watch, South Carolina’s football team has won a Southeastern Conference division title and the Gamecock baseball team has won back-to-back College World Series championships.

However, the football program is dealing with an NCAA investigation.
