UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. -- College of Charleston sophomore John Duke Hudson of Sonora, Texas, fell from second place after Tuesday's second round of qualifying for the U.S. Amateur being played at Chambers Bay.

After opening with a 3-under 69 on Monday, Hudson carded an 83 on the second day and could only wait as the remainder of the golfers finished the round to learn if he had advanced to today's match play.

Jeff Wilson was the opening-day leader after firing a course record 62 on Monday.
