The high school playoff season kicks into full swing this week with a full slate of action.

In baseball, the Lower State Championship Series continues today with a couple big games involving area teams.

At 7 p.m., Wando hosts White Knoll, which has a 27-1 record and is batting .400.

White Knoll faces a Warriors squad (27-2) which advanced after beating Summerville, 5-3, on Saturday.

In another big game, Hanahan hosts Bishop England in a Class AA winners' bracket game at 6:30 p.m. Hanahan breezed by Dillon, 23-4, on Saturday to advance, while Bishop England topped Cheraw, 6-3.

The SCISA state baseball championships being today with a best-of-three format. In Class AAA, Northwood Academy hosts Hilton Head Christian at 7 p.m. In Class AA, defending champion First Baptist hosts W.W. King. In Class A, Laurens Academy is at Coastal Christian.

High School League girls first-round soccer action gets underway today while the boys competition begins Tuesday.

Also on tap today is the boys Class AA golf tournament, which will be held at the White Plains course.

The High School League will crown boys' tennis and track champions this weekend in Columbia.
