A late touchdown by James Island in the Trojans’ 26-20 win over Stratford last week is all the separates The Post and Courier’s Andrew Miller from being a perfect 18-0 in his high school football picks over the past three weeks. The Trojans’ victory left Miller 5-1 last week.

After stumbling out of the gate, Miller (41-19) has a commanding seven-game lead over ABC News 4 sports anchor Scott Eisberg (34-26) for the season.

Eisberg and Miller differ on three picks this week.

Eisberg: The game we’ve waited all year for. I think it will be a statement game for the Patriots. Fort Dorchester, 35-14.

Miller: This is game of the year in Region 8-AAAA. Both teams have high-powered offenses with big-time quarterbacks. Home field will be the difference. Ashley Ridge, 28-27.

Eisberg: Gators are certainly clicking these days, really getting back to old form at the right time. Goose Creek, 42-14.

Miller: Goose Creek wins its sixth straight region title last week. This is just icing on the cake. Goose Creek, 38-10.

Eisberg: I will never win on social media with the Wildcats fans, I pick them to lose, they win and I hear about it. I pick them to win, they lose, I hear about it. Cane Bay, 21-14.

Miller: Cane Bay has been the surprise team in the Lowcountry this season. Cobras having an excellent season, but West Ashley running back Dexter Freeman has been in beast mode all season. West Ashley, 20-13.

Eisberg: Special day for Summerville with the Super Bowl presentation earlier in the day. Pair that with some added fire from Ashley Ridge students rushing the field at Summerville, Joe Call will have them ready to play. Wave, 28-17.

Miller: Summerville interim coach Joe Call needs a win. He has kept this group together and should get it. Summerville, 24-20.

Eisberg: Monster game in Region 8-AAA, Hanahan’s Sam Denmark was banged up last week. Defense will make the defense for the Hawks. Hanahan, 21-10.

Miller: Hilton Head is unbeaten at 10-0. Make it 11-0. Hilton Head, 28-20.

Eisberg: Pinewood Prep’s D’Angelo Knight could be the best area player that isn’t talked about enough. He’s having a phenomenal season and it carries over to the postseason. Pinewood, 35-10.

Miller: Coming off a big win last week against Porter-Gaud. Panthers keep the momentum going. Pinewood, 27-17.

Eisberg: 2-4 last week. 34-26 overall.

Miller: 5-1 last week. 41-19 overall.
