LAST YEAR: Goose Creek 17, Fort Dorchester 0

COACHES: Chris Candor, Goose Creek; Steve LaPrad, Fort Dorchester

NOTABLE: Goose Creek has won the last five meetings but Fort Dorchester leads overall series, 11-9.

KEEP AN EYE ON: Fort Dorchester sophomore quarterback Dakereon Joyner, who continues to impress with his feet and his arm as a dual threat.

DID YOU KNOW: Before last week’s loss to Summerville, Goose Creek had not lost to an area team since 2009 ... Gators also were shut out for the first time since 2007 and only the second time since 2003.

LAST YEAR: Hanahan 30, Cane Bay 21

COACHES: Charlie Patterson, Hanahan; Russell Zehr, Cane Bay

NOTABLE: Cane Bay has rushed for nearly 900 yards in the last two weeks and scored 70 points in a win over Berkeley last week.

KEEP AN EYE ON: Hanahan senior wide receiver Sam Denmark, who also excels in the kick return game, is one of the area’s most explosive players.

DID YOU KNOW: Hanahan leads the overall series, 3-2. The Hawks won the first two meetings (2008 and ’09) by a combined score of 80-0.

LAST YEAR: Wando 37, Summerville 14

COACHES: Jimmy Noonan, Wando; Joe Call, Summerville

NOTABLE: Summerville holds a 37-6 advantage in the overall series but Wando has won two of the last three meetings. Summerville won the first 17 meetings.

KEEP AN EYE ON: Wando’s passing game continues to excel but faces a Summerville defense that shut out Goose Creek last week. Wando is averaging 30 points per game in its 0-3 start.

DID YOU KNOW: Wando has not started a season 0-4 since 1992 when the Warriors finished 1-10. Wando last started 0-3 in 2009.
