Clemson had James Davis, who became one of the Tigers' all-time great running backs. Now, South Carolina gets his brother.

Running back Mike Davis of Stone Mountain, Ga., committed to the Gamecocks during his official visit. Davis, who had been committed to Florida, said he actually decided on the Gamecocks a week after dropping the Gators. James Davis was with his brother on the official visit.

He is USC's 24th commitment for the 2012 recruiting class.

--Junior offensive lineman DJ Park of Dillon committed to USC on Saturday night while on an unofficial visit with the Gamecocks, becoming their first commitment for the 2013 class. Among his other offers were from Clemson, Auburn, Florida, LSU and Virginia Tech.

College swimming

In a non-conference dual meet at UNC Wilmington, the College of Charleston picked up nine first-place finishes. But UNCW outpointed the Cougars, the men winning, 168-21, and the women, 183-109.

College of Charleston freshman Sarah Sisk placed first with a women's school-record indoor shot put of 42 feet, 7 inches, in the Dick Taylor Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C.
