Game On, which was the 2004 S.C. Governor's Cup Billfishing Series champion, grabbed the first-day lead Thursday in the Bohicket Marina Invitational Billfish Tournament, releasing a blue marlin and a sailfish. Game On is owned by Sea Hunt Boats out of Lexington.

Game On's billfish were worth 800 total points (600 points for blue marlin, 200 for sailfish).

Three other boats released blue marlin Thursday. My Time Out is in second place, based on time of release, followed by Rascal, the 2005 Governor's Cup winner. Trust Me also had a blue marlin release, while Major Motion had the other billfish release, a white marlin caught by Buck Morris.

In the non-billfish categories, the Mary Agnes has the top dolphin with a 27.6-pound catch; Miss Magnolia leads the wahoo division with a 35.0-pound fish; and Small Change has the top tuna with a 21.0-pound blackfin.

First place in the regular tournament category, based on points, will pay $8,000, second $5,000 and third $3,000. The top dolphin, tuna and wahoo will earn $1,500 each.

Twenty-five of the 28 boats entered in the tournament used Thursday as one of their two allotted fishing days. Today's weigh-in is scheduled from 5-8 p.m., while Saturday the weigh-in will run from 5-7 p.m.
