Former Clemson DE Ogundeko tweets FCS transfer destination

Former Clemson DE Ebenezer Ogundeko

CLEMSON – Former Clemson defensive end Ebenezer Ogundeko is transferring to Tennessee State University, he declared on his Twitter account Saturday afternoon.

Ogundeko was arrested May 18 on charges of financial transaction card fraud and dismissed a day later from the Tigers’ football program by head coach Dabo Swinney.

The case is ongoing, investigated by the City of Clemson Police Department.

Ogundeko tweeted Saturday, “Time to start my new journey at TSU. God is good and I thank you for another opportunity. #blessed #TSU”

Because Tennessee State belongs to the Football Championship Subdivision, Ogundeko is expected to be immediately eligible pending his legal future.

The Tennessean reported Wednesday that TSU is expected to be banned from the 2015 postseason for failing to meet the NCAA’s Academic Progress Rate standards. Although TSU plans to appeal, the Nashville-based school already has self-imposed a 10-game schedule this fall.
