Despite not starting the second game of a doubleheader Sunday, Anderson Feliz came up with the decisive hit for the RiverDogs in both games as Charleston defeated Delmarva 2-0 and 5-4 in front of 2,862 fans at Riley Park.

Feliz entered the second of two seven-inning games on defense in the fifth inning. He crushed a ball over the right-field wall in the bottom of the frame, breaking a tie and putting Charleston ahead 5-4.

Feliz also led the RiverDogs to victory in the first game. Just as in the second game, the second baseman had his key hit in the fifth inning -- a double that shattered a scoreless tie.

Feliz's double to right field scored Jose Toussen from second base. Eduardo Sosa also scored on the play after a throwing error from Delmarva right fielder Mikey Planeta.

Feliz had the opportunity to be the hero after pitcher Jarret Martin walked Toussen and gave up a single to Sosa. Feliz said he was glad to come up with the hit in that situation.

"I had an opportunity with runners on first and third, so it felt good," Feliz said.

Manager Aaron Ledesma praised the second baseman for coming up with two big hits in two games.

"He's struggled this year but hopefully this will be the start of something good," he said.

The RiverDogs got an incredible pitching performance out of right-hander Zach Nuding in the opener.

Nuding pitched four hitless innings for Charleston before giving up a single to Joe Olivera in the fifth.

"He was outstanding today," Ledesma said.

Manny Barreda came in to relieve Nuding at the start of the sixth inning. In the one full inning he pitched, Barreda did not allow a hit. Finally, Mark Montgomery closed the Shorebirds out in the seventh inning, earning his fourth save.
