Former Stratford High School quarterback Jacob Park has committed to Iowa State and is expected to sign with the Big 12 school on Wednesday.
Park, an All-Lowcountry pick and state Mr. Football winner during his Stratford career, signed with Georgia in 2014 but left last year having never played in a game for the Bulldogs.
He attended classes at Trident Tech and was preparing to play next fall at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M when the Iowa State opportunity arose.
“I don’t even know if exciting can describe it,” the 6-4, 202-pound Park told 247sports.com. “I feel blessed to have another opportunity. I know a lot of people don’t get one shot at it. I’m getting two. I’m going to make the best of it.”
Park reportedly made an official visit to Iowa State last weekend.
