Participants in the second annual Draft A Celebrity Golf Tournament will get an opportunity to have their team captained by such celebrities as Steve Spurrier, Todd Ellis, Jeff Scott, Tajh Boyd and Bill Murray while playing Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s Ocean Course.
The event, scheduled Saturday, benefits the Carolina Youth Development Center and R3 Inc. Last year’s tournament donated more than 68,000 children’s meals through the Lowcountry Food Bank.
Teams draft one of the celebrities who have committed to the event on the basis of their bids. As of Thursday afternoon, three teams had placed bids of $3,000 or more. Twenty-two teams will compete.
