Estero, Fla. — Forward Robby Dee scored two goals to help the South Carolina Stingrays (35-25-4-3) collect a 4-2 vicctory over the Florida Everblades (33-21-4-7) at Germain Arena on Saturday night.
Dee opened the scoring with a 5-on-3 power-play goal in the first period, tapping a pass from forward Peter Boyd past the Everblades goaltender. Defenseman Luka Vidmar added the second assist.
With 10 seconds remaining in the period, Dee blasted a shot from between the faceoff circles under the goalie’s pads. Defenseman Kevin Quick netted the lone assist.
The Everblades responded with two goals in the second.
Then Boyd buried his first goal as a Stingray on the man-advantage at 10:27 of the third period, knocking in a rebound. Forward Tyler Johnson and defenseman Ryan McGinnis assisted on the goal.
Quick sealed the victory with an unassisted empty-net goal at 18:56.
The Stingrays close a 3-game road trip against the Everblades on Sunday at 5 p.m., and return to the North Charleston Coliseum on Friday night for Hall of Fame Night.
