Bulls Island Archery Hunts

The final 2015 Cape Romain Refuge Bulls Island archery hunts for white-tailed deer will be held Dec. 7-12. On Dec. 6 the federal wildlife officer and refuge manager will conduct a meeting with archers to discuss refuge hunt regulations. Visit fws.gov/caperomain for a copy of the hunt permit. Permits also are available at the Refuge Headquarters Office and Sewee Visitor and Environmental Education Center, 5821 Hwy. 17 North, Awendaw, S.C. 29429 or call 843-928-3264.

Fly Fishing 201

The Charleston Angler’s final Fly Fishing 201 School will be held Dec. 12. The cost is $75 for the class which runs from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and is limited to 10 participants. Call 843-571-3899 or 843-884-2095.

Military Appreciation tournament

The Military Appreciation Day Charleston chapter fishing tournament drew 34 boats who took 82 troops fishing on Nov. 14. The anglers caught speckled trout, weakfish, redfish, sheepshead, black drum, bluefish and black sea bass. Information is available at militaryappreciationday.org.
