SCMA NAUTICAL MARKETPLACE: The South Carolina Marine Association will hold its Nautical Marketplace on Saturday at St. Johns Yacht Harbor on Johns Island. Boat dealers, retailers, repair facilities, artisans are invited to participate, bringing new, old, used or never used nautical items and collectibles for sale. SAFE BOATING CLASS: Charleston Sail and Power Squadron will teach America's Boating Course from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Saturday at Squadron headquarters, located at 1376 Orange Grove Road. The course will cover coastal boating activity including: navigation basics; wind and tides; docking: VHF radio use; GPS; anchoring; boating in adverse conditions; and a day on the water in Squadron boats to practice what you have learned. ISLAND SPORTSMAN'S CLUB DENNY FORD MEMORIAL: The Island Sportsman's Club's seventh annual Denny Ford Memorial Fishing Tournament will be fished Oct. 8. SC MEMORIAL REEF BLAST: The South Carolina Memorial Reef Billfish Blast will be fished Oct. 4-8, with boats allowed to fish two out of four days. The entry fee is $2,800 with $300 going to the S.C.
