SCSSA DOLPHIN DAYS: The South Carolina Saltwater Sportfishing Association will hold its annual Dolphin Days tournament Saturday. Target species are dolphin, king mackerel, wahoo and tuna and there will be a billfish division. BOHICKET MARINA REDFISH INVITATIONAL: The inaugural Bohicket Marina Redfish Invitational will be fished Saturday. There fly-fishing and spin-fishing categories. The entry fee is $200 for up to four people with prizes for the overall winner (aggregate weight of three redfish), largest red on fly, most spots, biggest trash fish and lady angler.

MCASC FISHING TOURNAMENT: The fourth annual Mechanical Contractors Association of South Carolina will hold its Charleston Slam fishing tournament May 26. The entry fee is $40 and the entry deadline is May 13. Cash prizes will be awarded through third place, with first place paying $1,000. CAROLINA LADY ANGLERS: The Carolina Lady Anglers’ 15th annual Fishing for the Cure inshore tournament will be held June 2 out of the Charleston Maritime Center. GEORGETOWN LANDING MEATFISH SLAM: Pain Killer took first place in the Georgetown Landing Marina Meatfish Slam, a tournament that benefited Kids’ Chance scholarships. Pain Killer had the first-place wahoo (49.2 pounds), first-place aggregate and Big Dog aggregate with 75.8 pounds. Blue Sky had the first-place dolphin, 30.4 pounds while Christy II was second with 23.4 pounds. Earl-E-Bird won the tuna division with a 26.2-pound catch, two pounds better than Christy II. Miss Ella was second in wahoo with a 30-pound catch and second in aggregate with 57.8 pounds. Les Smith was the top youth angler and Laura Stokes won the lady angler award.

GOOSE CREEK BASS CLUB SUMMER SLAM: The Goose Creek Bass Club’s Summer Slam series will feature 12 regular events and a classic. Tournaments are being held every Saturday from 5-9 p.m. with the exception of July 4 weekend. The entry fee is $30 per team with $10 optional big fish. LOWCOUNTRY BASSMASTERS: The Lowcountry Bassmasters 2012 Working Man’s Tournament are underway at Cypress Gardens Landing on the Cooper River. Tournaments will be held every Thursday from 5:30-8:30 p.m., with registration beginning at 3:30 p.m. At the end of the 13 tournaments, the top 20 teams will compete for a championship. SC MEMORIAL REEF: The fourth annual S.C. Memorial Reef Silent and Live Auction will be held June 29 during the Carolina Classic S.C. Governor’s Cup Billfishing Series tournament. The S.C. Memorial Reef will be a part of the Charleston Deep Reef Project to create a special place of honor and reflection for the sportsfishing community that share, protect and respect our outstanding offshore resource.
