CSU’s Tagivakatini named Big South Field Athlete of the Week

Charleston Southern senior Talei Tagivakatini was named the Big South Conference Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Tagivakatini established a personal best in the weight throw to take fourth place among a field of 43 competitors at the ETSU Buccaneer Invitational this past weekend. She threw 16.32 meters on her first try to soar past her previous personal best by .22 meters. Tagivakatini’s previous career-high of 16.10 meters was set at last season’s Tar Heel Opener. She finished off a strong junior year with an all-conference third-place showing in the shot put at last year’s Big South Outdoor Championships.

The start time for game two of the College of Charleston baseball series at South Carolina on Saturday has been moved up to 1 p.m.

First pitch, originally scheduled for 4 p.m., was pushed forward due to expected harsh weather conditions at Carolina Stadium.

The game is still scheduled to be broadcast on SEC Network Plus. The pregame Cougar Club tailgate will now begin at 11:30 a.m. in the originally scheduled location.
