LEXINGTON, Va. -- Third-seeded Charleston Southern will face No. 4 seed Winthrop in the fifth game of the Big South baseball tournament today. The teams will face off at 7 p.m. at Gray-Minor Stadium.
CSU earned the regular season series win over Winthrop, 2-1.
The Bucs, who return to postseason play after missing the tournament in 2010, are in the midst of one of the best seasons in recent program history. CSU claimed its highest Big South finish since 2002, when the team also finished third under then-head coach Gary Murphy.
It is also the Buccaneers' first 28-win season since 2000, when Murphy guided CSU to a 31-31-1 overall record and a second-place Big South finish (14-7).
