College of Charleston defeated The Citadel for the 27th straight time in their volleyball series, winning 25-14, 25-14, 25-18 in Southern Conference action Tuesday night at McAlister Fieldhouse.
The Cougars (9-5, 2-0) are now 27-0 all-time against the Bulldogs (2-14, 0-2).
Kerstin Koehler and Melissa Morello led the Cougars in kills with nine. Koehler also had five blocks. Taeler Davis added 37 assists, while Emily Shelton had 16 digs.
Jessica Maxwell had eight kills for the Buldogs.
College of Charleston is at Georgia Southern on Saturday.
The Citadel is at Georgia Southern on Friday.
Ross Thomson shot a final-round 4-under-par 67 to finish tied for third at 210 in the Dash Thomas Memorial tournament and land on the All-Tournament team in leading Charleston Southern to a seventh-place finish in Boise, Idaho.
CSU shot 284 on the final day, finishing at 871. Washington State (843) won the team title.
Jarrett Swan of Mount Pleasant shot 76-71-69 to finish tied for 26th overall at 3-over 216.
The College of Charleston men surrendered three first-half goals to lose, 3-1, to No. 17 Coastal Carolina in Conway.
Luke Huggett scored the only goal for the Cougars (4-5).
Charlestonwill host No. 1 Maryland at 7 p.m. Saturday.
Forward Desmond Ringer (6-9, 260) of McDonough, Ga., committed to South Carolina, choosing the Gamecocks over Vanderbilt, Auburn and Stanford.
