The College of Charleston men's basketball team will not only focus on Xs and Os next year, they'll also be focusing on learning a new language. Or, at least a portion of a new language.
"Mele Kalikimaka" is the Hawaiian way of extending Christmas greetings, and that's where the Cougars will be spending their holidays next year as part of the inaugural Diamond Head Classic.
In addition to Charleston, other schools participating will be Southern Cal, Hawaii, SMU, Saint Mary's, UNLV and Western Michigan. The eighth team has not been announced. Games will be played Dec. 22, 23 and 25.
