The College of Charleston rolled in its home opener Tuesday, picking up a 25-20, 25-19, 25-2 victory over Presbyterian at Carolina First Arena.

Senior outside hitter Whitney Russell led the Cougars with 10 kills, while senior Ginny Phillips had six blocks.

Presbyterian fell to 2-3.

--UNC Wilmington rallied to win the final two sets and upend Charleston Southern 18-25, 26-24, 14-25, 27-25, 15-11. The Bucs (2-4) and Seahawks (3-4) combined for 63 kills in the back and forth match.

Amanda Hill led the way for Charleston Southern with a career-high 29 kills and12 digs.

--The Citadel hosts its first home match of the season today at 6 p.m. against Savannah State at McAlister Field House.


Citadel soccer players Mariana Garcia and Shanna Couch were selected to the Air Force Academy Fall Classic All-Tournament Team for their performances this weekend in the Bulldogs' third-place finish in Colorado Springs, Colo.
