Colvin (2-4), who entered the game with a 9.41 ERA and was tied for the league lead in losses, stifled the RiverDogs and received two double plays from his defense. He walked four and struck out five.

Lakewood led 4-0 after one inning against Sean Black. The BlueClaws got an RBI single from Hewitt, Darin Ruf’s run-scoring triple and Sebastian Valle’s RBI groundout.

Black (1-3) lasted just four innings, allowing five runs on a season-high nine hits, with one walk and four strikeouts.

The BlueClaws upped the advantage to 6-0 in the sixth on Jonathan Villar’s run-scoring single, after Buschini’s leadoff triple.

Charleston posted its first run in the seventh for a 6-1 score, when Luke Murton scored on a wild pitch. Rob Lyerly’s sacrifice fly in the eighth inning against right-hander Ebelin Lugo trimmed the deficit to 6-2.
