CLEMSON – Any Clemson coaches, staff or fans who were losing sleep over a couple of high school kids possibly changing their minds at the last minute can go catch a mid-morning snoozer.

In the first hour or so of National Signing Day, Clemson received signed national letters of intent from top wide receiver recruits Ray-Ray McCloud and Deon Cain, both from Tampa.

Cain, who committed May 30, 2014, and McCloud, who committed July 28, 2014, are each 5-star prospects via Rivals.com, helping Clemson earn the No. 3 team ranking via that service. Both products reportedly took a late visit to Auburn, and McCloud was reportedly receiving overtures from Florida this winter, but both are bound for Clemson this July.

McCloud is a 5-9, 176-pounder who figures to line up wherever he’s needed for depth. Cain stands 6-1 and weighs 190 pounds, a similar high school build to another former Clemson receiver commitment out of Florida: Sammy Watkins.

Also faxing their signed letters of intent by 9 a.m. Wednesday: five defensive linemen in Austin Bryant, Gage Cervenka, Clelin Ferrell, Christian Wilkins and LaSamuel Davis. Tight end Garrett Williams and defensive backs Tanner Muse, Mark Fields and Amir Trapp are also in.

With Wednesday’s 11 official signings joining the 15 freshmen who enrolled in January, Clemson fills out at 26 commitments for the class of 2015.

Via the football program’s Twitter account, head coach Dabo Swinney declared, “We have the BEST recruiting staff in the country. I couldn’t be prouder. It’s a celebration today - no drama!”

The Tigers now have accounted for 86 players on scholarship, one over the limit, which means if one player does not leave the program before July (or all the incoming freshmen qualify academically,) either a veteran will have his one-year offer pulled or an incoming rookie will have to grayshirt.

Swinney and co-offensive coordinator Jeff Scott, who served as recruiting coordinator for this 2015 class, will address the media from the WestZone team meeting room at 2:30 p.m. New recruiting coordinator Brandon Streeter will commandeer the 2016 class.
