The Coast Guard Cutter Dallas will return to Charleston at 10 a.m. Wednesday for the final time, after completing a successful 94-day patrol.
The ship is being decommissioned and transferred to the naval forces of the Philippines.
During the cutter’s three-month patrol, the crew made one marijuana seizure and one cocaine bust. The ship also transferred to various law enforcement agencies detainees suspected of attempting to smuggle drugs into the U.S. The cutter made a stop in Cartagena, Colombia, and several visits to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
The cutter is scheduled for a decommissioning ceremony March 30 and will be transferred to the Philippine navy by the end of May.
The ship was commissioned in 1967. The ceremony will be at 1050 Register St., North Charleston.
