CLEMSON – Jonathan Meyer pitched seven shutout innings in relief of Kevin Pohle and Phil Pohl and Jason Stolz each homered to lead Clemson to a 7-2 win against Maryland on Saturday to sweep a doubleheader and the series.

Clemson (24-17, 12-9 ACC) won the first game of the doubleheader, 5-3, Saturday led by three RBIs from Pohl and 3 1/3 shutout innings of relief by Mike Kent.

College of Charleston transfer Thomas Brittle extended his hitting streak to 14 games with two hits in each of the games Saturday.

Pohle lasted just two innings Saturday allowing two runs, while Dominic Leone started the first game, allowing three runs in 5 2/3 innings. Leone allowed eight hits, walked three and struck out three. Clemson has won three of its last four ACC series.

Maryland falls to 25-17 overall and 7-14 in conference.
