HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Nick Barbour scored 20 points, including 10 in overtime, to lead High Point to an 80-72 win over The Citadel on Saturday.

After sinking a jumper with 2 seconds left to send the contest into overtime at 65-all, The Citadel's Marshall Harris hit one of two foul shots to give the Bulldogs a one-point lead.

It would be their last.

Xavier Martin, who led the Panthers (2-3) with 21 points, hit one of two foul shots and converted a three-point play to push High Point back on top, 69-66.

Lawrence Miller's jumper pulled the Bulldogs back within one, but Barbour took over from there. He sank seven free throws and connected on a 3 in the final 2:26 to seal it.

"I am very impressed with the way that (our players) handled themselves. I was very pleased with their effort tonight," Citadel coach Chuck Driesell said. "They were given a few chances tonight to pack it in, but they didn't, and instead they chose to grind it out."

Mike Groselle posted his sixth straight double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds to lead The Citadel (2-3).

Corey Law had 13 points and 15 rebounds for High Point.

The Bulldogs are at College of Charleston on Thursday.

"We have to play hard defensively, because we can't allow someone who is averaging five points a game come in and score 20 points against us," Driesell said. "Xavier Martin got 20 points on us and I give him a lot of credit because he did an outstanding job. But, we have got to do a better job of not allowing someone, who is making baskets be able to beat us."
