Citadel basketball coach Duggar Baucom has added a sixth player to his incoming recruiting class for next fall.
Alex Reed, a 6-5 forward from Raleigh, joins Hayden Brown, Rob Johnson, Kaiden Rice, Tariq Simmons and Derek Webster Jr., in the class that will report to campus in the fall.
Reed scored 1,374 career points at Garner Magnet High School, No. 6 in school history, and set school records with 101 career wins and 113 varsity games.
As a senior Reed averaged 16.9 points and 8.8 rebounds while leading his team to a 27-3 record. Garner Magnet went 29-3 during his junior season, and was 28-1 and won the Class AAAA state title during his sophomore year.
"Alex Reed is a proven winner and he has the versatility to play multiple positions on the floor," Baucom said. "His tireless motor and skill set not only allows him to score, but also creates scoring opportunities for his teammates. Alex comes from a culture of winning at Garner Magnet High School, where he won over 100 games. We are very excited to have him join our outstanding Class of 2021."
