Asheville, N.C. — Asheville's David Christensen hit his 12th home run of the season as the Tourists edged the RiverDogs, 7-6, in South Atlantic League action Sunday night in front of 2,692 fans at Asheville's McCormick Field.
The Tourists (6-4, 32-47), jumped out to a four-run lead before the RiverDogs (6-5, 45-36) rallied to take a 5-4 advantage in the fifth inning.
The Tourists tied the game 5-5 in the fifth when Pacheco drew a leadoff walk, advanced to second on a groundout, stole third and scored on a Carlos Martinez single.
In the sixth, James Cesario hit his fourth home run of the season, and Christensen homered to give Asheville a two-run lead.
The RiverDogs cut into the Tourists' lead, 7-6, in the seventh when Ray Kruml blasted his first home run of the season.
Asheville starter Dan Houston (4-6) threw six innings, allowed five runs, two walks and six strikeouts for the win.
The RiverDogs return to acton today against the Tourists at 7 p.m., as 6-10 right-hander Andrew Brackman (1-7, 5.35 ERA) takes the mound.
