UNC Wilmington 79, Charleston Southern 57 (women)

WILMINGTON, N.C. -- North Carolina Wilmington went on a 15-0 scoring run late in the first half to take control of the non-conference game.

Kelsey Wasmer led the Buccaneers (4-7) with 18 points. Katie Tull scored 15 on five 3-pointers and Lakeitha Alston added 10 points.

Brittany Blackwell had a career-high 29 points to lead the Seahawks (7-2).

UNCW's size and strength inside proved difficult for the Bucs to defend throughout the remainder of the game. The Buccaneers were out-rebounded 37-28, and the Seahawks blocked five shots.

The Bucs will return to action on Monday, when they travel to take on the Mercer Bears for a 2 p.m. game.
