The Carolina Billfish Classic, the third of four events comprising the 2015 South Carolina Governor’s Cup Billfishing Series, will be fished Friday and Saturday. The tournament will be headquartered out of Toler’s Cove Marina in Mount Pleasant, and any billfish that are landed must be weighed there. Boats can weigh tuna, dolphin or wahoo at Toler’s Cove or Georgetown Landing.

The Carolina Billfish Classic this year also is offering a new Ford F150 truck for a state record dolphin and is continuing to recognize smaller boats with its Under 40 division.

Weigh-ins at Toler’s Cove and Georgetown Landing begin at 5 p.m.

Last year’s Carolina Billfish Classic was won by Petrel, owned by Harry Johnson Jr. and captained by John Thomas, with two blue marlin and four sailfish releases for 2,000 release points. Sportin’ Life, owned by Manly and Graham Eubank and captained by Mike Glaesner, was second with two blue marlin releases and 1,200 points.
