Carlos Mendoza, a former Charleston RiverDogs first base coach, will replace Aaron Ledesma as the team's manager for the 2012 season.

The RiverDogs, a South Atlantic League affiliate of the New York Yankees, are expected to make the official announcement next week, and then introduce Mendoza during the 8th Annual Hot Stove Banquet on Jan. 27 at The Charleston Marriot.

Mendoza joined the Yankees organization in 2009 as a member of the Staten Island Yankees' coaching staff before joining the RiverDogs for the 2010 season. Last year he served as the manager of the Gulf Coast League Yankees.

Ledesma left baseball to enter private business.
