KIAWAH ISLAND — The College of Charleston women’s golf team is tied for the lead after the second day of the 41-team, two-course Kiawah Island Spring Classic held at the Kiawah Island Golf Resort.
The tournament host Cougars share the lead with Coastal Carolina with a 36-hole score of 589 (+13). Chattanooga is third, carding a two-round 596 (+20).
Leading the way for the Cougars was senior Morgan Webber, who shot 1-over with two birdies and is tied for seventh individually with junior teammate Laura Fuenfstueck at +2.
Senior Louise Olsson shot 3-over with three birdies and is tied for 10th at +3.
The top 20 teams will play for the championship on Tuesday at Osprey Point (9 a.m. shotgun start) and teams No. 21-41 will play for the flight championship at Oak Point (8:45 a.m. shotgun start).
Charleston Southern jumped six spots to move into a tie for 17th place with Richmond at 614.
Buccaneers sophomore Emelie Flink matched a career-low with a 1-under 71, matching the lowest collegiate round of her career to climb into a tie for 35th at 151.
The Citadel has a two-day total of 686.
