Talk about having your golf swing dialed in. Mark Lipsmeyer certainly had things going his way in winning the recent Bulls Bay Golf Club Member-Guest golf tournament with partner Moe Dunn.

During a practice round on April 25, Lipsmeyer used a 7-iron to make a hole-in-one on the 152-yard seventh hole.

The next day he holed out for another ace, this time on the par-3 17th hole from 137 yards using a wedge.

Lipsmeyer and Dunn won all five of their matches to advance into a three-hole shootout on Bulls Bay’s par-5 10th, par-4 16th and par-18th holes. Lipsmeyer hit the drive in the alternate-shot format on No. 10 and Dunn’s approach left him with a 137-yard approach.

You guessed it. Lipsmeyer holed out for an eagle-3 using and 8-iron into the wind, propelling the two to the title.

The Charleston RiverDogs eighth annual Golftoberfest will be played Tuesday at the Harbor Course at Wild Dunes Resort. Proceeds from the event benefit the Medical University of South Carolina’s Storm Eye Institute.
