OCALA, Fla. -- Olivia Jordan-Higgins tied for second place in the medalist standings to lead the Charleston Southern women's golf team to a fifth-place finish in the MSU Ocala Spring Invitational on Sunday.

Jordan-Higgins began the day with a share of the lead but shot a final-round 74 to finish in a two-way tie at 2-over-par 218, two behind medalist Mitsuki Katahira of team titlist Daytona State College. CSU's Katelyn Bensch shot a second straight 79 and finished tied for 22nd, at 234, in the Bucs' best team showing of the spring. They shot 313 on Sunday and totaled 929.

College sailing

The College of Charleston placed fifth in both the A and B divisions to finish fourth out of 18 teams overall at the Dellenbaugh Women's Intersectional held in Providence, R.I. Boston College won with 149 points. The Cougars finished with 194 points. Allison Blecher, Alyssa Aitken and Molly O'Neill sailed in A division and totaled 90 points. Shannon Heausler, Rebecca Bestoso and Deborah Ong sailed in B division.

--The College of Charleston took third at the New England Team Race Intersectional held in New London, Conn., winning four races and losing two. Georgetown won the regatta with a 5-1 mark, while Roger Williams (4-1) was second.

With a 14-7 record, the College of Charleston finished second at the Ted Farrarone Team Race held in Newport, R.I. Boston University went 19-2 for first. The Cougars went 8-1 in the first round and 5-4 in the second to advance to the championship rounds, where they went 1-2. Competing for the Cougars were Sam Stokes, Ben Spector, Mac Mace, Corinna DeCollibus, Perry Emsiek and Sarah Burks.
