Bowman vs. Clark, Pick 6, Week 10

If this were an election, it would be too close to call.

After nine weeks, The Post and Courier’s Phil Bowman and WCBD’s Brendan Clark are deadlocked. Both prognosticators went 5-1 last week and are 45-9 for the season. Can anyone say “chad?”

Next week, the playoffs begin for SCISA, and the Class A, AA and AAA teams in the High School League. Class AAAA will finish the regular season next week.

Bowman is trying to unseat Clark. Clark has won the contest the past two years. Bowman says if he loses, “There’s always next year.”

Here are this week’s picks:

Hilton Head at Berkeley

Bowman: Stags end the regular season in style. Berkeley, 21-18.

Clark: Stags start week 10 out in style: Berkeley, 28-20.

Summerville at Ashley Ridge

Bowman: John McKissick gets win No. 600. Summerville, 21-14.

Clark: 600 for coach and Wave stays undefeated in region: The ‘Ville 35-21.

Wando at Cane Bay

Bowman: Warriors won’t have a letdown. Wando, 28-14.

Clark: No losing streak for Warriors: Wando, 35-28.

Goose Creek at West Ashley

Bowman: Gators want to finish with a perfect record. Goose Creek, 35-7.

Clark: The song remains the same: Gators roll, 42-14.

South Florence at Stratford

Bowman: Knights can’t be looking ahead to next week. Stratford, 20-7.

Clark: Stratford wins, although a bit too close for comfort: 24-21.

Beaufort at Fort Dorchester

Bowman: Patriots have home-field advantage. Fort Dorchester, 21-20.

Clark: Patriots can’t afford another region loss. Ft “D” wins 38-20
