MOUNT PLEASANT -- The Charleston Battery pro soccer team plays the College of Charleston today in an exhibition match at the Patriots Point Soccer Complex at 11 a.m.
Admission is free for today's match, which is the final preseason game for the Battery before it opens the USL Second Division season April 17 at Charlotte.

Charleston Southern (21-20-1, 5-5) split a home doubleheader with Big South Conference rival Liberty (20-11, 5-3), losing the first game, 3-0, before winning the second, 5-4.
Megan Hall lifted CSU in Game 2 with a three-run triple in a four-run third inning that gave it a 4-2 lead. On the day, Hall totaled two hits and one run scored to pace CSU's offense. Shayla Cullum also recorded two hits, including an RBI single, and Melissa Adams also chipped in with two hits. CSU's Sondra Vetter took the loss in the first game. Caitlin Allen earned the win in relief in Game 2, working three innings.
College track and field
College of Charleston freshman Jelain McArthur was named the Southern Conference women's track athlete of the month for March. She has excelled in the 100-meter hurdles, the 200-meter dash and the triple jump.
