Rep. Jim Clyburn announces developments on Charleston port study

Following their 3-2 opening victory last week at Charlotte, the Charleston Battery's season is just getting started, and it continues with the team's home opener Saturday night.

In Saturday's Post and Courier, the Battery will be previewed in the Sports section as we take a look at the 2010 season and the team's players.

That night, the Battery battles the Pittsburgh Riverhounds at 7:30 at Blackbaud Stadium in a match that will be followed by postgame fireworks.

Free water bottles, courtesy of MUSC Health Sports Medicine, will be given away, and $2 drafts will be available before the game in the Battery beer garden along with $4 margaritas. And, at halftime, one lucky fan will have a chance to win $10,000 with the Heritage Trust Kick for Cash.

Tickets can be purchased at or by calling 971-4625.
