Baseball America has named former Wando High School slugger Kep Brown of Spartanburg Methodist College as the top junior college prospect for the 2016 Major League Baseball draft. Brown, an outfielder, was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 10th round of the 2015 draft but Brown did not sign.

Brown suffered a torn Achilles tendon last spring and missed most of his senior season at Wando, which went on to win the Class AAAA state championship. In two games at Spartanburg Methodist, he has two hits and a home run in six at-bats.
