CLEMSON – Clemson coach Jack Leggett announced Tuesday he’ll start Kevin Brady against UAB in the season opener at 4 p.m. Friday.

Brady showed ace potential last season before being limited by a forearm injury. The junior right-hander struck out 33 and walked just one in 23 innings last season.

Brady can throw in the mid 90s and was a 17th round draft pick by the Cleveland Indians but elected to return to school.

Brady will be followed by Dominic Leone on Saturday and David Haselden on Sunday.
