ELGIN — An officer with the South Carolina Department of Corrections has been arrested after authorities found thousands of dollars in stolen property at his home.

Kershaw County sheriff’s deputies say they arrested 47-year-old Robert George Miller on Friday and charged him with possession of stolen property over $10,000.

At Miller’s Elgin home, deputies say they found stolen property, including a four-wheeler, riding lawn mower and 34 guns.

Authorities say Miller was assigned to Kershaw Correctional Institution, a medium-security prison.

Miller has been released on bond. It was not immediately clear if he had an attorney.
