SC hires and promotions


Crystal Byler has joined Moody & O’Neal CPAs LLC as a senior tax manager. She has 16 years of accounting industry experience. Previously, she was with BDO USA LLP in the greater Washington, D.C., office. She has a bachelor's degree in accounting from George Mason University.


Faith Rivers James has joined the Coastal Conservation League as executive director. Previously, she was assistant provost for leadership and head of the Department of Leadership Studies at The Citadel. She has a bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College and a law degree from Harvard Law School. 


Kent Thames has joined JE Dunn Construction as vice president for the Charleston market. Previously, he was a senior project manager at Choate Construction Co.


Michael Semancik has joined SAVI Cucina + Wine Bar as culinary director. He has 25 years of culinary industry experience. Previously, he was executive chef at The Dewberry Hotel.


Lisa Long has joined Allen University as provost and vice president for academic affairs. Previously, she was chief academic officer and acting president at Talladega College. She has a bachelor's degree in social work from Jacksonville State University, a master's degree in social work from the University of Alabama and a law degree from the Birmingham School of Law.


Chelsea Vander Pols has joined CFJ Injury Lawyers as an associate attorney. She has a bachelor's degree in political science and journalism from Central Michigan University and a law degree from the Charleston School of Law.

Lauren N. Vriesinga has joined Hall Booth Smith PC as an attorney in an of-counsel capacity. She is based in the Mount Pleasant office. She concentrates her practice on representing health care providers and professionals and on liability matters. Previously, she was with Clausen & Staubes LLC. She has a bachelor's degree from Loyola Marymount University and a law degree from St. Thomas University School of Law.


Kate White has joined the Charleston Parks Conservancy as director of horticulture. Previously, she was horticulture department manager at Magnolia Plantation & Gardens. She has a bachelor's degree in environmental geography from Ohio University and an associate’s degree in horticulture from Trident Technical College


Sam Spence has joined the Preservation Society of Charleston as director of public affairs. Previously, he was editor of the Charleston City Paper. He has a bachelor's degree in historic preservation and community planning and political science from the College of Charleston.

Real estate

Ann Coggiola and Brian DeMille have joined The Cassina Group as agents. Coggiolia has more than 18 years of real estate industry experience. DeMille has 17 years of real estate sales experience.

Andrew Smith has joined William Means Real Estate as an agent. He has a bachelor's degree in business administration from the College of Charleston.


Kevin Gregoire has been promoted to executive vice president and chief operating officer at Blackbaud Inc. Previously, he was president of enterprise markets. He has more than 20 years of management experience in the technology industry. He has a bachelor's degree in operations research from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and a master's degree in business administration from Babson College.
