Man charged in child pornography case
A North Charleston man was arrested Thursday and accused of downloading child pornography to his computer.
Benjamin Bowers, 29, of Marie Street, is charged with criminal sexual conduct, according to the Charleston County Detention Center.
His bond hearing is expected to be held this morning,, said Spencer Pryor, North Charleston police public information officer.
Bowers had been arrested April 20 on a charge of receiving stolen goods, a police report said.
When police searched his home to recover the stolen items, Bowers told a detective that there might be child pornography on his computer, the report said.
